At Called Church, we are grounded in the essential truths of the Christian faith, and those beliefs shape everything we do. We do not create the mission. We carry the one Jesus already gave us.
Below is a clear outline of what we believe about God, Scripture, salvation, the Church, and the Christian life. These convictions guide how we live, how we lead, and how we pursue the Great Commission together.
Our goal is simple: to provide clarity, build unity, and help people confidently follow Jesus as we gather, grow, and live called.
God is the Creator and Ruler of the entire universe. We believe God is eternal, existing beyond time, and has revealed Himself as one God in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is holy, loving, all-powerful, and sovereign over all creation. Understanding God’s nature shapes how we worship, trust, and follow Him.
Genesis 1:1, 26 to 27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son and is actively at work in the world today. He draws people to Jesus, convicts hearts, empowers believers, and leads us into truth. The Holy Spirit lives within every believer from the moment of salvation and gives wisdom, strength, guidance, and spiritual gifts for everyday living. We believe every believer should live under the leading and direction of the Holy Spirit daily.
2 Corinthians 3:17; John 14:16 to 17; John 16:7 to 13; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13
Salvation is the gift of God made available through Jesus Christ alone. We cannot earn forgiveness through good works, religion, or self-effort. Salvation comes through repentance and placing faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Through Him, we receive forgiveness of sins, a new life, and an eternal relationship with God.
Romans 6:23; Romans 5:1; Ephesians 2:8 to 9; John 14:6; John 1:12; Titus 3:5
Man was created in the image of God with value, purpose, and dignity. Humanity was designed to reflect God’s nature and live in relationship with Him. However, because of sin and disobedience, mankind became separated from God and in need of redemption. Every person needs the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3 to 6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1 to 2
We believe eternal life is given through faith in Jesus Christ and is secured by the grace and power of God. Salvation is not sustained by human effort but by God’s faithfulness. Believers can have confidence and assurance in the saving work of Jesus Christ.
John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 10:10 to 14; 1 Peter 1:3 to 5
We believe every person will spend eternity either in the presence of God or separated from Him. Heaven and hell are real places, and eternity is determined by each person’s response to Jesus Christ. Eternal life is found only through salvation in Him.
John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:15
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for our faith and daily living. Written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Scripture is true, trustworthy, and without error. God’s Word provides wisdom, direction, correction, and truth for every generation.
2 Timothy 3:16 to 17; 2 Peter 1:20 to 21; Psalm 119:105; Psalm 119:160; Proverbs 30:5
We hold a biblical view of marriage, gender, sex, and life. We believe marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman established by God. We believe God intentionally created humanity male and female, each with equal value and unique design. Sexual intimacy is a gift from God meant to be experienced within marriage. We also believe every human life is sacred and created by God from conception to natural death.
